Patna: Bihar govt has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) to enhance electricity transmission and supply across the state. The agreement will also integrate power generation from the Pirpainti Power Plant into the state’s energy network.
Speaking on the occasion, energy minister Shailesh Kumar said the initiative will help Bihar achieve its 2025-2030 industrial growth target by ensuring reliable electricity supply for industries. Energy secretary Ajay Yadav said the partnership will ensure transparent bidding, timely project execution, and improved efficiency.
RECPDCL executive director Prince Dhawan called it a historic step for Bihar’s energy sector, while BSPTCL managing director Rahul Kumar said the state plans to set up 47 new grid substations over the next decade to meet rising power demand.
