Buxar MLA reprimands civil surgeon at sadar hospital

Buxar: Buxar BJP MLA and former IPS officer, Anand Mishra, reprimanded civil surgeon (CS) Dr Shiv Kumar Prasad at the sadar hospital in the presence of district magistrate Sahila on Monday.The MLA strongly criticised the CS’s functioning. A video of the incident, which occurred on the Republic Day, later went viral on social media.

In the video, Mishra is seen raising serious questions about alleged irregularities at the hospital. He claimed that due to administrative lapses, both officials and elected representatives were facing public anger.The MLA Mishra was also accused of taking a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh in connection with work related to the hospital. Rejecting the allegation, Mishra termed the allegation a conspiracy to damage his image.Additional DM Arun Kumar Singh and several other senior officials were present during the incident.The controversy is linked to the recent death of a woman at the sadar hospital. Following her death, agitated family members and local residents blocked the Buxar-Chausa main road, leading to heightened tension in the area. Subsequently, doctors across the district boycotted OPD services for two days.Congress leader and former Buxar MLA Sanjay Kumar Tiwari, also known as Munna Tiwari, later intervened and claimed that he persuaded doctors and the CS to resume services after assurances from local leaders.The TOI could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.
