Nashik: Mayor Himgauri Aher on Thursday announced a new initiative "Letter to Residents" aimed at establishing better dialogue with the residents. The initiative will be launched on Feb 27 — Marathi Language Day.
While addressing the reporters during a press conference, the mayor said a 24x7 helpline will also be introduced on a digital platform to help residents raise various civic issues or share their suggestions.

"Every month, I will respond to the queries posted by the residents through media and other platforms, ensuring sustained communication and improved interaction with the public through the new initiative," she said.
"The civic body got elected representatives after almost four years of administrative governance. We will inform the residents what changes took place during the last four years. Moreover, various works are being carried out in the city in view of the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela. State govt has also established a Kumbh Mela Authority. Hence, there are several questions in the mind of the residents and the same will be addressed through this initiative," the mayor added.
There are several issues in the city particularly related to the irregular water supply and potholes. "The condition of city roads has deteriorated. The issue was raised by several corporators during the recent meeting of the general body of the NMC. A special general body meeting of the NMC to discuss these water supply and road-related issues will be held between March 6 and 10," the mayor said.
Aher further informed that she will soon start ward-wise visits across the city, covering all 31 wards within the next 100 days.
