Nashik: The civic body has initiated the process to appoint eight certified lifeguards for its four swimming pools across the city.The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has floated tenders, seeking agencies capable of supplying trained lifeguard personnel who will be deployed at these facilities for a period of two years.According to civic officials, lifeguards will be stationed at the Swatantrya Veer Savarkar swimming pool on Trimbak Road in the Nashik West division, Rajmata Jijau swimming pool in the Nashik Road area, Swami Vivekanand swimming pool and Satpur swimming pool.Each of these facilities witnesses significant daily footfall, especially during summer months and vacation periods, making availability of professional staff essential.Currently, the civic body has around six lifeguards and there is a need for eight additional lifeguards.The total cost of outsourcing these services is estimated at Rs56 lakh for the contract period. Officials stated that deploying both male and female lifeguards has been planned to ensure safety and comfort for all swimmers.As part of the tendering process, NMC will conduct a pre-bid meeting on March 20. Interested agencies must submit their bids by April 1, while the technical and financial bids will be opened the following day.
