10 roads around Ramkund shut on Wednesday for former President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit

Nashik: Former President Ram Nath Kovind will be visiting the Kalaram Temple on Wednesday, following which he will take part in the Ganga arti organised by the Ramtirth Godavari Seva Samiti at 6 pm. CM Devendra Fadnavis and other VIPs will also attend this programme. The Nashik city police have, therefore, planned traffic diversion around the Ramkund area on Wednesday.The entire Kalaram temple, Ramkund, Gangaghat area has been declared as a ‘no vehicle zone' till the end of the programme.The police said that the road from Malegaon Stand to Ramkund and further till Mhasoba ground will be closed for traffic. Roads from Dhikle Vachanalay to Ramkund, from Khandve Hall to Ramkund, Sardar Chowk to Ramkund, Shani Chowk to Ramkund, Shani Chowk to Ramukund, road from Nageshwar Temple to Ramkund will be closed for vehicular traffic from either side.The roads from Katya Maruti Chowk to Kalaram Temple to Sardar Chowk, Chhatrapati Shivaji Chowk to Kalaram Temple, Katya Maruti Chowk to Ganeshwadi to Nehru Chowk and Panchavati Amardham to Ramkund will also be closed for two-way traffic.Motorists are requested to take the Malegaon Stand, Panchavati Karanja, Dindori Naka, Katya Maruti Chowk, Adgaon Naka, Kannamwar Bridge, Tractor House, Nanawali, Nashik Amardham, Shitaladevi temple, Rokdoba Temple route or the other alternative routes available.Devotees can use the Raviwar Karanja, Ekmukhi Datta Mandir to reach Gandhi Talav. The road from old Sarkarwada, Saraf Bazaar, Ram Setu can also be used to move towards the Kapurthala Maidan. Devotees can also reach the Rokdoba Maidan from Tractor House, Nehru Chowk and Dilli Darwaja, Gadge Maharaj Statue and Tiwandha Chowk to reach Rokdoba Maidan.The parking arrangement has been made at Rokdoba Maidan and Kapurthala Maidan. The traffic diversion order has been issued by DCP (Traffic and HQ) C M Kirithika.
