Twin Trauma: NU Winter Exam Corrections Linger, Hall Tickets Given At 11th Hour

Nagpur: Students of Nagpur University are facing mounting stress this examination season as delays in correction of winter examination results and late issuance of hall tickets have created a chaotic situation across affiliated colleges. Several students complained that they received their hall tickets only a few hours before the commencement of Summer examinations, leaving them anxious and uncertain about whether they would even be allowed to appear for papers. It also raised questions over allotment of centres and seating arrangements. At the same time, many students are still running from college to exam section seeking corrections in their Winter Exam 2025 marksheets, including errors in marks, subjects, names and result status. The results were announced two weeks ago, but the revision is pending in case of many students. "We received our hall tickets just a few hours before the exam in afternoon shift. We came to know our exam centre only then. I was anxious if I would be able to reach my centre in time or not. Many of my classmates too face similar issues," said a student.An outstation student claimed she has been asked to come to college for the hall ticket on the day of the exam. "My exams are starting this week. Our college clerk said like other courses, our hall tickets too would come on the day of the exam and asked us to visit college and then go to the exam centre. What if my centre is far off from my college?" she said.Both students said corrections in the marksheets too are pending and this has made their task to focus on studies even more difficult.NU exam section officials said colleges are now coming up with exam forms after issuance of stern warning of late fee. "Colleges didn't take updates as they were mostly shut in April. Now, they are saying that they didn't get the portal link. Many colleges had collected the forms and fee but never transferred them to the university account," they said.A senior official said the university will have to now review if such cases can be admitted and how much late fee needs to be levied. However, this is likely to burden students with additional fee unless the university waives it.
