Nagpur: An FIR has been registered against woman for allegedly abetting her husband's suicide following prolonged domestic disputes. The deceased, Manish Desbhratar (34), a resident of Raghupati Nagar in Wadi, had been married to Puja for 12 years. The couple has two children.According to the complaint, frequent arguments erupted after Puja allegedly began speaking to different people over the phone. On March 14, she left for Vijayawada with their son Pranay. Though Manish later brought her back, she soon left again for her mother's house. The complaint further alleges that sustained mental stress — including Puja's refusal to take responsibility for the children — pushed Manish into severe depression. On April 20, Manish allegedly died by suicide, hanging himself at his residence. Initially, an accidental death was registered at Wadi police station. However, during the probe, his mother Kavita (56) alleged that Puja subjected her son to continuous mental harassment, driving him to take the extreme step.Based on her complaint, police have registered an FIR against Puja under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abetment of suicide.
