Yavatmal: Police busted a fake currency printing operation running from a lodge in Pusad city after a late-night raid on Thursday and seized material worth nearly Rs2 lakh. Four persons from Telangana were arrested in the operation.
As per assistant police inspector Gopal Chandrapal Indrale of Pusad City police station, cases were registered against Suresh Kishan Pendam of Mancherial district, Avinash Kumar Surendra Malraj of Tilak Nagar, Venkatesh Kishan Jangli of Gandhi Nagar, and Syed Sadiq Syed Khaja, a resident of Ashok Road in Mancherial in Telangana.
Police sources said officials received specific information that a group of individuals was printing counterfeit currency notes in room no. 105 of Vihar Lodge. Police laid a trap and found that the accused were allegedly using tincture iodine, sodium sulphate, spirit, paper, and other chemical materials for preparing fake currency notes.
