Western Railway's Mumbai introduces stress relief and rest facilities for staff
MUMBAI: For the welfare of motormen and train managers, the Mumbai Central division of Western Railway has put in place a well-established system of rest facilities, welfare measures, counselling support, medical awareness programmes and regular interaction with crew members and their families, Western Railway Chief Spokesperson Vineet Abhishek said on Sunday. Fully air-conditioned Integrated Crew Lobbies have been provided at Churchgate, Borivali and Virar stations. These lobbies are equipped with ergonomically designed seating arrangements, RO and cooler drinking water facilities, and recreational amenities such as chess and carrom boards for crew members. The Mumbai Central division also has 12 air-conditioned running rooms in the suburban section, where motormen and train managers can rest during night halts between two duty shifts. In addition, Yoga-cum-Tranquility Rooms have been set up at the Churchgate, Borivali and Virar lobbies to help crew members relax, meditate and manage stress.
