Mumbai Corporator demands barricading of one lane at Marine Drive to create safe space for citizens

Mumbai: Following the accident, which claimed three lives, near Parsi Gymkhana on Marine Drive, corporator Makarand Narwekar has written to the Mumbai Police and the BMC, demanding the barricading of one lane on Marine Drive (from Nariman Point to Girgaum Chowpatty) to ensure safe walking, jogging, and cycling. Narwekar said Marine Drive and its adjoining areas are frequented by a large number of citizens for walking, jogging, and cycling during the morning hours. "In the past, barricading was implemented along one lane from Nariman Point to Chowpatty to provide a safe space for these activities, " Narwekar added.
