Lucknow: A speeding truck went out of control and rammed into four vehicles near Chandradhal in Madiaon on Wednesday morning, dealing serious injury to four, including a youth whose leg was severed.The accident occurred around 7 am on service lane of Lucknow-Sitapur Road, 200 metres from police station when auto drivers were boarding passengers under the flyover. The truck veered entered the narrow service lane at high speed and hit an e-rickshaw, a CNG auto, car and a motorcycle. A woman was flung 10 feet away.Ashu Gautam (26), resident of Bharat Nagar in Madiaon, suffered most after getting trapped between the truck and divider, resulting in his left leg being severed. His younger brother Anand had come to drop Ashu. “As soon as he got off the bike and turned towards an auto, the truck hit from behind,” he said.Another injured youth, Abhay Kumar Singh (22) of Kushinagar district, is critical. Sitapur govt school teacher Nidhi (28), suffered a fracture in her right leg.Eyewitnesses said afer the truck crushed vehicles, the driver and helper fled, said Madiyaon SHO Shivanand Mishra. Police, Civil Defence volunteers, and locals shifted the injured to KGMU and Jankipuram hospitals.
