UP RERA enters 10th year, May 1 to mark RERA Day
Lucknow: The UP Real Estate Regulatory Authority has completed nine years of its establishment and entered its 10th year, with the authority deciding to celebrate May 1 every year as ‘RERA Day’.
The authority credited sustained progress to transparent governance and policy support under chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
According to official data, UP RERA recorded steady growth in project registrations over the years, with 197 projects registered in 2023, 259 in 2024, and 308 in 2025. The momentum has continued in 2026, with 106 projects already registered in the first four months.
Investment through registered projects increased from Rs28,411 crore in 2023 to Rs44,526 crore in 2024 and Rs68,328 crore in 2025. In the first four months of 2026, investment of Rs25,156 crore has already been recorded.
Lucknow has emerged as a major real estate hub, with 67 projects registered in 2025, almost matching Gautambudhnagar’s 69 registrations.
“UPRERA has also ensured major relief for homebuyers. It has recovered and transferred Rs1,581 crore in 6,252 cases, while Rs545 crore was paid through settlements in 1,777 cases. Overall, Rs2,126 crore has been paid to allottees in 8,029 cases,” said chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy.
He added, “Through benches, conciliation forums and the online portal, settlements involving properties worth Rs5,943 crore have been achieved in 11,377 cases. RERA Samvaad, launched in 2020, has conducted over 198 sessions and resolved more than 5,287 cases. Over 87% of the 61,030 complaints filed so far have been disposed of through e-courts.”
