SP promises 300 units of free power to each home if it forms govt

Times News NetworkLucknow: SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said if voted to govt in 2027 UP polls then domestic electricity consumers will be allowed 300 units of power free of charge every billing period.In the runup to 2022 assembly polls, Akhilesh had promised 300 units of free power to ever household and free electricity to farmers for irrigation.The party strategists clarified that all necessary arithmetic has been done regarding funds needed to allow free power and that it would be completely manageable.This is the second major announcement by Akhilesh Yadav ahead of 2027 polls. Recently he had promised an annual assistance of rs 40,000 to underprivileged women in the state under a revived, expanded pension scheme once the party wins the 2027 assembly elections.The amount promised will be given to women under the Nari Samriddhi Samman Yojana or Samajwadi Pension Scheme, party sources claimed that the funds needed for the scheme were manageable from the already established sources of revenue available with state govt.
