In a significant development, the Delhi High Court dismissed the recusal plea filed by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other accused in the excise policy case. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma refused to step aside from hearing the CBI’s challenge to Kejriwal’s discharge. The plea alleged judicial bias based on past rulings, potential conflict of interest involving the judge’s family, and her presence at events linked to Adhivakta Parishad.Opposing the claims, the Central Bureau of Investigation, represented by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, argued that such allegations were unfounded and that judges commonly attend public events. In her detailed order, Justice Sharma described the situation as a “Catch-22” and noted it paradoxically created a “win-win” scenario for Kejriwal. The court ultimately dismissed all recusal applications, allowing proceedings in the case to continue. Watch
