In a deadly ambush, explosions ripped through an Israeli armoured convoy in southern Lebanon days after the US announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. Iran-aligned Lebanese armed group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for what it said was a coordinated attack on a convoy of eight Israeli armoured vehicles. According to the group, the convoy was hit by a chain of pre-planted explosive devices, setting ablaze at least four Merkava tanks, among Israel’s most advanced battle tanks.
