Petrol now at Rs 101.89 in Lucknow, fifth fuel price hike since May 14
LUCKNOW: Fuel prices in Lucknow have been increased for the fifth time since May 14, leading to a gradual hike of Rs 7.2 in petrol and Rs 7.55 in diesel rates across the city.
According to the latest revision on monday, petrol prices touched Rs 101.89 per litre, while diesel prices reached Rs 95.36 per litre. Premium petrol variants also saw a similar increase, with XP95 priced at Rs 110.47 per litre and XG at Rs 100.97 per litre.
The latest hike follows multiple revisions earlier this month. Petrol prices rose by Rs 2.86 per litre on May 15, followed by smaller increases of Rs 0.87 and Rs 0.86 on May 19 and May 23 respectively. A sharper increase of Rs 2.61 per litre was recorded on May 25.
Diesel prices also witnessed consistent upward revisions during the same period. Rates increased by Rs 3.01 per litre on May 15, followed by hikes of Rs 0.91 on May 19 and May 23, and another Rs 2.72 per litre on May 25.
The continuous rise in fuel prices is expected to impact transportation costs and household budgets in the city.
According to oil marketing companies, the price hike has not only happened in the state capital, but the rest of the 74 districts of the state.
Diesel prices also witnessed consistent upward revisions during the same period. Rates increased by Rs 3.01 per litre on May 15, followed by hikes of Rs 0.91 on May 19 and May 23, and another Rs 2.72 per litre on May 25.
The continuous rise in fuel prices is expected to impact transportation costs and household budgets in the city.
