LDA to build parking facility in Hussainabad

Lucknow: To ease traffic congestion near Rumi Gate in Hussainabad, LDA on Wednesday said that it will build a parking facility with capacity for about 450 vehicles, including buses.LDA vice-chairperson, Prathamesh Kumar, after site inspection, said illegal parking near Rumi Gate has led to congestion for residents and visitors to sites such as Imambara and Clock Tower.“A survey identified a 9,000 sqm plot near the gate for the project. The facility will accommodate 15 buses, 150 four-wheelers and around 300 two-wheelers at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore,” he said.A 14-metre-wide corridor will be built for vehicle movement, while pedestrians will use an exit via Musafir Khana Gate. A second parking area of about 700 sqm will come up behind the food court near an under-construction library.At ‘Laziz Gali’, a food lane with 15 kiosks, officials were told to complete pending work within 15 days and make it operational this month. At Nimbu Park, he directed officials to start the new fountain and plant lemon varieties.
