Gym trainer opens fire on girlfriend’s call, arrested

Police have arrested the main accused and launched a search for his accomplices.The incident took place in Hans Vihar colony on Tuesday.According to police, Aditya Singh (21) had a heated argument with a woman identified as Divya, who lives in the same building. Following the altercation, Divya allegedly called her associates, including the main accused - a gym trainer identified as Divyansh Singh (21).Some men reached the spot and allegedly attacked Aditya, escalating the situation into a violent confrontation.As Aditya’s mother stepped in to protect her son, one of the accused — allegedly Divyansh — opened fire. The bullet struck the woman in her leg, leaving her seriously injured. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment.Local residents alerted the police after hearing the gunshot.Divyansh Singh, a native of Bahraich, currently residing in Lucknow’s BBD area, was arrested.Inspector Dinesh Chandra Mishra said a case has been registered against five named accused and several unidentified persons under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
