Govt clears 24 tourism projects for Firozabad
Lucknow: The UP govt approved 24 projects worth Rs33.91 crore for the development of religious, historical and mythological sites in Firozabad district, aiming to boost tourism and generate local employment, an official spokesperson said.
“The initiative focuses on improving infrastructure and visitor facilities across key faith-based destinations in the Agra division,” said officials.
Tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh said the projects are designed to preserve cultural heritage while accelerating regional development. “Beautification and basic infrastructure will be enhanced at major temples, ashrams and tourist sites to improve the overall experience for devotees and visitors,” he said.
The plan covers prominent locations across Tundla, Shikohabad, Sirsaganj and Jasrana, where temples, ashrams and public spaces will be upgraded. Officials said improved amenities are expected to increase footfall, spur local commerce and create employment opportunities.
Among the major allocations, Rs11.88 crore has been sanctioned for infrastructure works at Samour Baba Dham in Sirsaganj, while Rs1.88 crore will be spent on the development of Bade Jakhaiya Maharaj temple in Jasrana. Tourism facilities will also be expanded at the birthplace of Neem Karoli Baba in Akbarpur with an outlay of Rs1.45 crore.
Several other projects include upgrades to temples such as Siddhkali Mata temple, Pathwari Mata temple and Radhakrishna temple, along with development of ashrams, parks and rural tourism sites. Funds have also been earmarked for public utilities, including lighting and sanitation facilities at the Rapri eco-tourism area.
