Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Police registered a criminal case against an unidentified person for allegedly circulating misleading information on social media regarding the written examination results of the proposed Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Direct Recruitment-2025 process.
Officials said that a fake and misleading post related to the SI recruitment examination result was circulated on social media platform X through a handle operating under the name “SI Radha Paswan” with user ID @Vardaan1430. The post allegedly attempted to spread misinformation by impersonating an official or credible source connected to the recruitment process.
Taking serious note of the matter, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board initiated legal action after the misleading tweet went viral among candidates preparing for the recruitment examination.
According to police officials, an FIR was registered at Hussainganj police station on Friday under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.
Police officials said an investigation was launched to trace the individual operating the social media account and identify the source behind the viral misinformation campaign.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board clarified that the viral claim was completely misleading and unauthorised.
Officials warned that strict legal action would be taken against individuals found spreading fake or misleading information related to police recruitment examinations and govt selection processes through social media platforms.
Candidates have been advised to check only official notifications and updates released through authorised govt channels and the official recruitment board platforms regarding examination schedules and results.
