Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress, accusing the party of pursuing “divisive and appeasement politics” and condemning what he described as an “undignified” remark made by Rahul Gandhi against PM Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.In a strongly worded statement, Yogi said the Rahul’s comment terming Modi and Shah as “traitors” reflected “negative politics, an undisciplined mindset and disrespect towards democratic values.”“The Congress, which is the mother of divisive and appeasement politics, has once again exposed its mentality through the objectionable remarks made by its ‘yuvraj’,” the CM said.Yogi further asserted that the alleged comments against Modi, Shah and the RSS amounted to an insult to the democratic mandate and trust of 145 crore Indians.He demanded that Rahul publicly apologise to the nation for what he termed an “objectionable, unparliamentary and frustration-driven statement.”
