BJP govt delivers results, that’s why people choose us: Yogi

Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said his govt believes in delivering solutions rather than evading challenges, and that is the reason people continue to place their trust in the BJP.“We provide solutions, not problems. That is precisely why the people choose us,” the CM said after inaugurating and laying foundation stones for 19 development projects worth Rs 655 crore in Deoria.Highlighting the pace of development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yogi said both India and Uttar Pradesh entered a new era of growth since 2014 and that the journey of progress was now “unstoppable”.He said state govt prioritised infrastructure development to ensure that its benefits reach people quickly. Referring to the upcoming agricultural university in Kushinagar, the CM asked agriculture minister Surya Pratap Shahi to expedite preparations for its launch from the next academic session.Yogi said the university would help farmers adopt modern technologies, reduce production costs and improve agricultural output.Recalling his tenure as Gorakhpur MP, the CM said eastern Uttar Pradesh earlier suffered from poor infrastructure, lawlessness and appeasement politics. He cited the poor condition of roads linking Gorakhpur and Deoria and long traffic jams at the Chauri Chaura railway crossing as examples of past govts.“In contrast, Deoria today is connected through a seamless four-lane network,” he said, adding that connectivity projects linking Deoria with Ballia and the Deoria-Kasia four-lane highway would further strengthen regional transport and North-South connectivity.Yogi highlighted improvements in healthcare infrastructure, saying a govt medical college named after Maharshi Devaraha Baba was now operational in Deoria, while work on a new district hospital would begin shortly.Launching an attack on the previous Samajwadi Party govt, Yogi alleged that before 2017, mafia influence and insecurity dominated the state.“Festivals were marred by unrest, land belonging to the poor was encroached upon and fear prevailed among women and traders,” he said.Claiming that Uttar Pradesh’s image underwent a transformation, he said the state has moved from the era of “One District, One Mafia” to “One District, One Medical College” and “One District, One Product”.He also credited the Centre and state govt for undertaking several welfare initiatives for farmers and economically weaker sections.Referring to BJP’s performance in the 2022 Assembly elections, Yogi said the people of Deoria ensured the party’s victory in all seven Assembly constituencies and assured that no development project in the district would be allowed to stall.He said development works in Salempur, Tamkuhi, Barhaj, Rudrapur, Pathardeva and Rampur Karkhana would be accelerated.Taking another swipe at the Samajwadi Party, the CM said that only “token funds” were allocated earlier for the Mohan Singh Setu project. He said the present govt would ensure the bridge is completed within a fixed timeline without any shortage of funds.Yogi further said Uttar Pradesh, once associated with hooliganism and mafia rule, was now recognised across the country for both development and cultural heritage.Referring to Ayodhya, Kashi, Mathura-Vrindavan, Naimisharanya, Vindhyadham, Prayagraj and Kushinagar, he said the state witnessed a revival of its religious and cultural identity.The CM said the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya reflected both the mandate of the people and the commitment of the BJP’s double-engine govt. He appealed to the public to continue supporting BJP representatives in the interest of development and good governance.
