12 years of Modi govt: UP to launch public outreach campaign from June 5 to June 21
Lucknow: UP govt will launch a statewide public outreach campaign from June 5 to June 21 to mark the completion of 12 years of Narendra Modi govt.On Friday, chief minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the preparations for the campaign during a meeting with cabinet ministers and senior officials.He directed that the achievements and transformative journey of both the Centre and state govts be taken to every section of society through extensive public participation.Yogi said that under PM Modi’s leadership, India achieved new milestones in development, good governance, welfare of the poor, social justice and global recognition over the past 12 years. He said that coordinated efforts by the Centre and the state have brought positive changes in the lives of people across all sections of society.The campaign will highlight progress made in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, farmer welfare, women’s safety and dignity, employment generation, infrastructure development, law and order, digital services and good governance.Yogi directed ministers to spend adequate time in their assigned districts and actively participate in all campaign-related events.He also asked them to establish direct dialogue with intellectuals, youth, women, farmers, entrepreneurs, traders and various social groups.
As part of the campaign, a nearly 10-kilometre-long ‘Pragati Path Yatra’ will be organised in every Assembly constituency between June 5 and June 21. Public representatives will stay overnight in villages, hold chaupals and interact with village heads and local residents.On June 5, which coincides with World Environment Day, the state will organise a large-scale plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. Awareness programmes related to environmental conservation, water preservation, cleanliness and health will also be held across development blocks and urban local bodies.The govt will also run a special awareness campaign to make the state free from single-use plastic, with participation from self-help groups, students, youth organisations, entrepreneurs and the general public.According to the schedule finalised in the meeting, public outreach campaigns, dialogue programmes and padyatras will be organised between June 8 and June 14. Media interaction programmes will be held on June 11 and 12, followed by district-level interactions by ministers. MPs and MLAs will also hold media briefings on June 13 and 14 to highlight the achievements of the “double-engine” govt.Yogi further directed that Jan Kalyan Melas be organised in all development blocks and urban local bodies from June 14 to June 16. On June 21, International Yoga Day, yoga programmes will be organised across all 825 development blocks and more than 700 urban local bodies in the state.
