MMiC refuses to go to police station
MMiC (legal) Baiswanor Chattopadhay on Monday remained defiant and said he would not visit the New Market Police Station after being summoned in a case, in which he was accused of "heckling" the municipal secretary, Kishore Kumar Biswas, on May 22. Reacting to the summons, Chattopadhay reminded that he was a senior advocate and a Bar Council member and would "fight his own legal battle". "I can fight my own legal battle. It cannot be a crime to ask why the KMC council chamber remained locked despite clear directions from the chairperson. I will take the legal route," he said. tnn
