Water supply disruption in Tripunithura

Kochi: Due to repair works in Kerala Water Authority's (KWA) main pipeline at Karingachira, water supply to Tripunithura municipality area will be disrupted from Friday to Sunday. The supply to the area is expected to be resumed on Sunday night, KWA authorities said.However, sources with KWA said that it may take more time to complete the work and resume supply. "The leak in the main pipeline which takes water from the pumphouse at Karingachira to Tripunithura town was spotted a fortnight ago. Though, we tried to repair it immediately, it was found that the leak was a major one. Since the pipeline is passing through beneath the railway lines in the area, railway's permission will have to be secured for conducting the work. So, chances are high for taking more time to complete the repair works," sources said.
