Two arrested for digitally altering and circulating women’s images online
Kochi: Kalamassery police on Thursday arrested two youngsters for allegedly digitally altering images of women and circulating them online.The accused were identified as Arav Advaith, 19, of Karukutty and Abhinandh, 18, of Chelembra in Malappuram. The accused were arrested after the women came to know about the images being circulated and alerted their parents, who in turn informed the police. According to police, the accused were college students, and they allegedly digitally altered photographs of women taken during a public celebration at their college.

Police said that they were booked under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology Act. Police also confiscated the mobile phones and electronic gadgets, including laptops, of the accused. Four held with ganja: Ernakulam rural police nabbed four persons with 21kg of ganja in two separate cases on Thursday. Police arrested Bappi Mollah, 23, and Sadiqul, 25, both from Murshidabad, West Bengal, with 16 kg of ganja from Sreemoolanagaram in Kalady. A minor was also caught along with them. In another incident, Murshidabad native Manur Hussain, 40, was arrested with 6kg of ganja at Kanjoor. The arrests were made by a special investigation team based on secret information received by police.
