Hoax bomb threat at Ernakulam medical college hospital

Kochi: Kalamassery police registered a case and began an investigation after Govt Medical College Hospital, Ernakulam, received a bomb threat via email on Thursday. However, a thorough search of the building by police and bomb squad proved the threat to be a hoax, as no explosive materials were found on the campus.The message warned that an RDX explosion would occur on the hospital premises around 1.30pm. The threat was sent to the official email address of medical college principal. Police said the email originated from an Outlook mail ID and threatened that the explosion would damage the building and facilities at the hospital and endanger those in the building, including patients and doctors.
