IDUKKI:
CPMIdukki district secretary CV Varghese said that slain SFI leader
Dheeraj Rajendran’s father will file a complaint against Idukki DCC president CP Mathew demanding to register a case against him over his controversial statements.
Talking to the media at Thodupuzha on Wednesday, Varghese said that CPM will provide all assistance to register a case against Mathew and will take legal steps against him.
“Mathews’ statement —if SFI activists continued the violence like the one witnessed at the Wayanad MP’s office, they would face the similar will suffer similar consequences to that of Dheeraj— showed the conspiracy behind Dheeraj’s murder,” he said.
“In a press meet on Tuesday, Mathew said that Dheeraj died due to the negligence of CPM and SFI activists. But the autopsy report stated that Dheeraj died within 14 seconds after he was stabbed,” said Varghese.
On Tuesday, Mathew had said that UDF has no relation to Dheeraj’s murder and added that the murder took place due to the failure of SFI and CPM.
Dheeraj, an SFI activist and a seventh-semester BTech student, was stabbed to death in a tussle related to college union elections on January 10. Two other students were injured in the tussle.
