Equality, good governance, and the poor's welfare will be at the top of his government's agenda, Nayab Singh Saini said on Thursday after swearing in for the second time as the chief minister of Haryana. Saini was administered the oath in Panchkula at a ceremony which was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several BJP bigwigs, and National Democratic Alliance partners.

In a post on X, Saini expressed gratitude to the people for their mandate.

"First of all, my heartfelt gratitude to 2.80 crore of my family members for their mandate for Haryana's non-stop development," he said.

Saini also thanked Modi for his "inspirational leadership".

"For the third time with full majority, the BJP government will work with full energy for good governance, equality and welfare of the poor," he said.

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Saini, who became the chief minister for a second time, at Dussehra ground here.

A total of 13 MLAs also took oath as ministers.

Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Chirag Paswan, and BJP president J P Nadda sat on the stage.

Governor Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office to Nayab Saini and his council of ministers in the ceremony held at Dussehra Ground in Sector 5, Panchkula.

BJP MLAs including Arti Singh Rao from Ateli seat, Rajesh Nagar from Tigaon, Gaurav Gautam from Palwal, Arvind Kumar Sharma from Gohana, Shyam Singh Rana from Radaur, Ranbir Singh Gangwa from Barwala and Krishan Bedi from Narwana seat took oath as ministers in the Haryana government.

MLAs Krishan Lal Panwar from Israna constituency, Rao Narbir Singh from Badshahpur, Mahipal Dhanda from Panipat, Vipul Goel from Faridabad, Shruti Choudhry from Toshan and former Deputy Chief Minister Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt also took oath as cabinet ministers.

Meanwhile, Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government in the state.

The BJP is forming its third successive government in Haryana after it won 48 out of 90 seats in the assembly elections. The Congress won 37 seats.

"I congratulate Nayab Singh Saini. BJP coming to power in Haryana for the third time is historic. I also congratulate all party leaders. We saw the effect of development done by Manohar Lal Khattar and Nayab Singh Saini. In Haryana, Congress made attempts similar to what they did in Himachal Pradesh by making false promises but the public a befitting reply to Congress."

Nayab Singh Saini took the oath as chief minister of Haryana on Thursday. The ceremony in Panchkula saw high-profile attendees, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Saini took his chief ministerial oath in Hindi.

Other officials who took the oath include Ambala Cantt MLA Anil Vij, Israna MLA Krishan Lal Panwar, Badshahpur MLA Rao Narbir Singh, Tosham MLA Shruti Chaudhary, Ateli MLA Arti Singh Rao, and Radaur MLA Shyam Singh Rana, all administered by Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya.

When the BJP picked Nayab Singh Saini as the Haryana chief minister in March to buck anti-incumbency, many felt a change of guard would not be enough to win elections. But the low-profile OBC leader proved all the naysayers wrong by steering his party to a third successive term in the heartland state. Not a nobody but not a somebody either when he replaced strongman Manohar Lal Khattar as chief minister, Saini was the BJP's man of the moment on Thursday when he was sworn in to head the state.

The 54-year-old proverbial dark horse, who has risen through the ranks of the Haryana BJP, deftly changed public perception of himself and the party in a state which many thought would go to the Congress.

The BJP won 48 seats in the 90-member assembly. Three Independents, including Hisar MLA Savitri Jindal, have also extended support to the party.

Born in Ambala's Mirzapur Majra village on January 25, 1970, Saini served as minister in the Khattar cabinet between 2014 and 2019.

On Haryana CM designate Nayab Singh Saini's swearing-in ceremony, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj says, "This oath was to be taken on the day of Dussehra. There is a lot of infighting in the BJP on who will be the CM. The infighting has somehow been controlled for now and the swearing-in is taking place but the CM of Haryana will be changed again in some days..."

On announcing the results of recruitment exams for 25,000 posts in Haryana, CM-designate Nayab Singh Saini says "Today as we said our commission has prepared its complete result. They were going to release it earlier but Congress created obstacles for the youth. We said that we will not let it become an obstacle and our government's agenda is to provide employment to the youth 'bina parchi, bina kharchi'. Even the children of poor families should get employment without and we will move forward in that. Today we will release the results of our 24,000 students."

Haryana CM-designate Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday offered prayers at the Valmiki Temple in Panchkula on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, just ahead of his swearing-in ceremony.

Speaking on the significance of the day, Saini expressed his gratitude, saying, "It is a matter of good fortune for me that today is the birth anniversary of Lord Valmiki, who worked to eradicate societal evils and spread an important message to the community. I am honored to worship at his feet, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to everyone in the state."

Saini also reflected on the formation of the new government, emphasising the impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. "This double-engine government, alongside PM Modi, will propel Haryana forward at a rapid pace. The trust that the people of Haryana have placed in the BJP is a direct result of Modi ji's policies," Saini stated. He highlighted how government jobs in Haryana are now being awarded on merit, without any undue influence or "Kharcha or Parcha," boosting the confidence of the state's youth.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to visit Haryana on Thursday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Nayab Singh Saini as the chief minister of the northern state.

According to AP chief minister's official schedule, Naidu is expected to arrive in Chandigarh by 11:15 am and attend the swearing-in ceremony between 12:30pm and 2pm at Panchkula.

Later, the CM is also scheduled to attend a meeting of NDA chief ministers and conclude his one-day tour of Haryana.

Naidu is expected to return to Andhra Pradesh around 10:30pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to chair a national conclave of all chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Chandigarh on Thursday.

The high-level meeting will take place from 3 pm to 7 pm, with a focus on key national development issues. The agenda also includes discussions on the observance of "Sanvidhan Ka Amrut Mahotsav" and marking the "50th Anniversary of the Attempt to Murder Democracy."

In a press release, the BJP confirmed that nearly all 20 NDA chief ministers and their deputies are expected to attend. Key leaders such as BJP President JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, home minister Amit Shah, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandra Babu Naidu, and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will also participate in the conclave.

The proceedings will commence after the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini.

A meeting of chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of NDA-ruled states is scheduled in Chandigarh on Thursday at 4 pm after the oath-taking ceremony of Haryana chief minister designate Nayab Singh Saini, sources said.

"There will be a meeting of chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of NDA-ruled states in Chandigarh tomorrow at 4pm. All NDA leaders have been invited to the oath-taking ceremony of Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini," sources said.

Nayab Singh Saini was on Wednesday chosen as the leader of Haryana BJP legislature party in a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Chandigarh.

Nayab Saini will now take oath as Haryana chief minister for the second time on October 17.

Union home minister Shah said that Haryana's victory is the result of the developmental narrative carried by the Prime Minister across the country.

On govt formation in Haryana, BJP's state general secretary, Archana Gupta says, "This time, the women of Haryana decided to form the BJP's govt for the third consecutive term... More than one lakh people will witness the swearing-in ceremony of the CM... Not only of Haryana but women of the entire country are with PM Modi..."

Nayab Singh Saini was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party in Haryana here on Wednesday. Newly elected Haryana BJP MLAs elected Saini in a meeting, which was also attended by Union home minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav as central observers.

Saini's name was proposed by MLAs Krishan Kumar Bedi and Anil Vij.

The announcement in this regard was made by Union Home Minister Shah.

Saini, who replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as the chief minister of Haryana in March, was the BJP's chief ministerial face in the state assembly polls.

The BJP secured a third term in the assembly polls in Haryana, results of which were declared on October 8. It won 48 seats against the Congress' 37 in the 90-member assembly in the state.

The oath taking ceremony will take place on Thursday.

Ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Legislature Party meeting for Haryana, BJP leaders on Wednesday emphasized that caretaker CM Nayab Singh Saini would be elected as the leader.
BJP MLA from Safidon, Ram Kumar Gautam said, "It is already declared that our Legislature Party leader will be Nayab Singh Saini."

The meeting will be held today in Chandigarh in which the legislatures will elect their leader, following which the BJP will stake claim to form the government in Haryana.

Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma said, "Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming to Haryana today. There will be a meeting of the legislative party today and after that, everything will be clear... The swearing-in ceremony will be grand and the top leadership of the NDA, CMs and Deputy CMs of BJP-ruled states will attend it."

BJP MLA Harinder Singh said that whatever decision the party takes; they will support it.

Jind BJP MLA Krishan Lal Middha hinted that Nayab Singh Saini would be chosen as the leader, saying, "Everyone is happy that the election was fought under the leadership of CM Nayab Singh Saini. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also announced during the election that the next CM would be Nayab Singh Saini."

BJP MLA from Tosham, Shruti Choudhry said that they will always stand for the party.

"BJP has given us a lot of respect. It is a matter of pride to be an MLA and it is also our responsibility to live up to the expectations of the people. We will always stand for the party," she said.

After being chosen as leader of Haryana BJP Legislative party, Nayab Singh Saini said on Wednesday that the people have resolved to carry forward the vision of Prime Minister Modi to make Viksit Bharat by 2047.
