With 99.6% score, Sonakshi brings pride to school, city
Kanpur: Celebrations erupted across schools after the results of CBSE Class 12 examination were announced on Wednesday.
Sonakshi Goyal of Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre scored 99.6% mark. The school also claimed that she secured a national top rank after scoring a perfect 400 out of 400.
Speaking to the media, Sonakshi said she aspired to become a doctor. She credited her success to consistent preparation from NCERT textbooks and notes provided by schoolteachers. Her father, Gautam Goyal, is a chartered accountant, while her mother, Shefali Goyal, is a homemaker.
Anushka Dixit of GD Goenka Public School secured 98.8%, while Akshara Singh and Gaurvi Jaiswal of Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre jointly secured 98.6% each.
Aindri Chaturvedi of Delhi Public School Barra scored 98%. Meanwhile, Arnav Katiyar topped Delhi Public School Azad Nagar with 97.8%, followed closely by Yashika Jain with 97.6%.
Anushka Dixit of GD Goenka School said she aimed to pursue a career in civil services to contribute towards social change and public welfare. She said she studied through goal-oriented preparation. Her father, Surendra Dixit, is an advocate and her mother, Anita Dixit, is a government teacher.
Akshara Singh of Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre said she planned to pursue Political Science Honours from University of Delhi. She said she preferred completing most of her academic work in school and studied only two to three hours daily at home. Her father, Atul Singh, is an advocate, while her mother, Pratibha Singh, is a homemaker.
Gaurvi Jaiswal, who also scored 98.6%, said she wished to pursue law and credited her teachers for her achievement. Her father, Gautam Kumar, works in the treasury department and her mother, Jyotirani, is a homemaker.
Yashika Jain of DPS Azad Nagar said she intended to build a career in psychology. School founder Alok Mishra, pro vice-chairperson Bandana Mishra and managing committee member Devvrat Mishra congratulated the students and wished them success in their future endeavours.
