Kanpur: Display and marketing of products made by self help groups will be the main attraction at the Saras Aajivika Mela at Moti Jheel lawn in Kanpur from Jan 4 to 6.
The mela will be inaugurated at 1pm by Satish Mahana, Speaker of UP Assembly, while Yogendra Upadhyaya, incharge minister will be the special guest.

A total of 60 stalls will be put up at the fair. Of these, 29 stalls of self-help groups will be set up from Kanpur Nagar district and 31 stalls from five other districts of the division.
At the stalls being set up by the Self Help Groups, 60 BBA students of Maharana Pratap College will support women in promoting self help group products for sale. The students will also prepare a brief report on products and sales.
The fair was to showcase beauty and fragrance products, traditional apparel and textile collections, rural light, household consumer goods, traditional handicrafts, Sakhi leather products, organic plants and agricultural produce, havan puja centres, sanitation solutions, and products and services such as delicious taste and health benefits products.
The district administration appealed that the maximum number of people should reach the fair and make it dedicated to rural culture, self-reliance and
women empowerment grand and successful.
