Jaipur: Three drugs and two mehndi products failed quality tests and were declared substandard Monday.The failed drugs are Ambrodot-LS syrup, made by Onex Pharmaceutical, Kanota, Jaipur; Lorazepam tablets, made by DD Pharmaceuticals, Jaipur; and Prutrax-SR 25 hydroxyzine hydrochloride tablets, made by Galcare Pharmaceuticals, Manglam Industrial Park, Jaipur.Ambrodot-LS is used for productive cough, bronchitis and COPD. Lorazepam is prescribed for severe anxiety, insomnia, acute seizures and pre-surgery sedation. Hydroxyzine is used for allergies such as itching and hives.Drug Controller Ajay Phatak said details of the samples found “not of standard quality” were shared with drugs control officers to ensure stocks are not consumed. He said available stock will be withdrawn and action taken under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and Rules.Two mehndi products that failed the test are PUSHP Henna of Sojat City and Prem Dulhan Fast Colour Cone by Prem Green, Pali district.
