Man arrested for killing elder brother, staging it as accident

Bhilwara: Aasind police arrested a man, Monday, for allegedly murdering his elder brother with an axe and dumping the body near a highway to make it appear as a road accident in a bid to claim insurance money and resolve a financial dispute.The body of Kishan alias Mewaram, a resident of Govindpura village, was found on the roadside near Kanwalas village on May 3. Police shifted the body to Aasind hospital mortuary and registered a case on the complaint of the deceased's younger brother, Laxmilal Khatik. However, during the investigation, police found several inconsistencies. Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh said the body had injuries only on the head, while there were no abrasions or scratches usually associated with road accidents. Police also found the motorcycle undamaged, raising suspicion. A special investigation team, supervised by Aasind DYSP Omprakash Solanki and led by station house officer Shraddha Pachhairi, analysed call detail records and questioned family members. During interrogation, complainant Laxmilal allegedly confessed to the murder. Police arrested Laxmilal on murder charges and further investigation is underway.TNN
