CM announces Brahmagupta Award, innovation centre to boost science & startups
Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Monday announced the launch of the ‘Brahmagupta Award’ in honour of renowned mathematician and astronomer Brahmagupta, who was born in Jalore district’s Bhinmal in the 7th century. The award will recognise outstanding contributions in science, mathematics, innovation and research by scientists, students and talented individuals.
The chief minister also announced the establishment of an innovation centre in Jaipur’s coaching hub to promote entrepreneurship, technological creativity and startup culture among students and young innovators. Sharma made the announcements while addressing the state-level National Technology Day celebrations at Birla Auditorium in Jaipur, where he called upon the youth to make Rajasthan a global leader in technology and innovation. He said science, research and technological advancement are the real drivers of development in the modern era. “Young people should use innovation to make Rajasthan a global technology leader and contribute towards building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The state govt is fully committed to supporting their aspirations,” the chief minister said.
