Indore: Several fire incidents were reported from different parts of the city on Wednesday morning. While there were no casualties, damage to the property was said to be extensive.
A fire was reported around 10.30 am at seventh floor of Mahidpurwala Furniture building near Radisson Square. Fire brigade vehicles reached the location within minutes of receiving the information. Officials said that the fire had started in rear portion of the tower, resulting in heavy smoke accumulation inside the building. Workers said that no one was present on the floor at the time of the incident.
Fire personnel, with the assistance of employees present on the premises, managed to contain the blaze before it could spread further. Initial probe pointed towards a possible short circuit.
Another incident was reported at maintenance office of Belamorte Park township in Lasudia area, where fire broke out early in the morning. Fire brigade officials said that the office also housed builder’s operational setup. Around 5 am, a security guard noticed smoke billowing from the premises and alerted nearby residents. Locals initially attempted to control the flames but failed as the fire spread rapidly through the office.
Fire brigade teams reached the spot and managed to douse the flames.
Fire official Sushil Kumar Dubey said that furniture, electronic items and several important documents kept inside the office were destroyed in the blaze. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
