INDORE: Five buses were gutted after a major fire broke out at a private bus parking yard in the Teen Imli area of Indore on Monday morning, triggering panic after a series of loud explosions were heard from the spot.
According to eyewitnesses, at least four powerful blasts rang out during the blaze, with locals claiming the sounds resembled cylinder explosions. Fire department officials, however, said the exact cause of the explosions was yet to be confirmed.
Two fire tenders were rushed to the parking yard soon after the fire was reported. Firefighters battled the flames for nearly an hour before bringing the situation under control.
Officials said the fire spread rapidly through the parked buses, engulfing five vehicles completely before emergency teams managed to contain it. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the area, drawing large crowds to the spot.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident till the filing of this report.
Authorities said an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the fire and the source of the explosions.
