Indore: Tension gripped Heera Nagar area on Monday as residents and grieving family members blocked Gauri Nagar intersection, protesting murder of a 30-year-old man.The man was stabbed to death on Sunday, with his eight-year-old son witnessing the attack as assailants chased him down and repeatedly knifed him.On Monday, following the postmortem examination of the body, the man's family placed his body on road, bringing traffic to a standstill. Protesters demanded immediate arrest of all accused, strict action against drug smuggling as the accused are reportedly addicts and compensation for the bereaved family.ACP Rubina Mijwani reached the spot to pacify the protesters. "We have identified six suspects, three adults and three minors. Two have already been detained," she said.The blockade was lifted after authorities assured swift legal proceedings and a crackdown on criminal elements in the colony.Police station in-charge Sushil Patel said CCTV footages captured the suspects fleeing the scene. Vivek and his associates were named in the case, and a manhunt was underway for the remaining four suspects. Police registered a case of murder and were questioning those in custody.The deceased was a resident of Jam Nagar and worked at a grocery shop in Siyaganj. He had come to attend his brother-in-law's wedding anniversary when the incident took place.
