DAVV likely to begin CUET-PG counselling registration this week
Indore: The wait for CUET-PG counselling at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) is likely to end this week, with the university expected to begin online registration for admissions this week after receiving result data from the National Testing Agency (NTA).University officials said students will be given at least two weeks to complete registration, while the counselling process is expected to begin by mid-June. This year too, DAVV anticipates a rise in participation as students from across the country will also be eligible to apply for admissions in the university’s 23 postgraduate courses covered under CUET-PG.The admission process has gained significance this year because NTA did not ask candidates to select preferred universities before the examination. As a result, any student who appeared for CUET-PG can now apply for admission to any participating university. Officials believe this change may substantially increase registration compared to previous years.Over the last three to four years, DAVV has received an average of only around 3,000 counselling registrations through CUET-PG, despite nearly 40,000 students appearing for the examination annually. University authorities now expect the numbers to rise sharply.
Vice-chancellor professor Rakesh Singhai said the university has introduced new courses and improved placement opportunities, which are likely to attract more applicants this year. He added that better industry exposure could lead to increased competition for several programmes.Officials also said special focus will be placed on courses that struggled to fill seats in previous years. Students will be informed about placement records and industry demand linked to such programmes to encourage wider participation.Educationists said most CUET-PG courses at DAVV witness strong demand, while only a few programmes face lower enrolment. He expressed confidence that higher registrations this year could help fill all available seats.Admissions for core MBA programmes at IIPS and IMS will be conducted separately through CMAT counselling next month under the directorate of technical education (DTE).
