Ujjain: Panic gripped the Mata Tekri shrine on Saturday afternoon after a sudden bee attack near the Chhoti Mata Chamunda Temple left eight people injured, including devotees and security personnel.
The incident occurred around 3.30 pm when devotees had gathered for darshan. According to eyewitnesses, a single bee began stinging people before a swarm quickly descended on the temple premises. The unexpected attack led to chaos, with devotees running for cover in stampede-like conditions.

Among the injured were Seema Kothari, 43, from Mhow, Vinita Prasad, 65, from Indore, and Ayush Kothari, 21. Two policemen on duty, a woman security guard, and another individual were also stung.
All the injured were taken to the district hospital.
Kapil Gurjar, in-charge of Maa Chamunda Shaskiya Devasthan Prabandhan Samiti, said, "Three devotees and four staff members were injured in the incident. As soon as we received information, we reached the hospital and ensured treatment. Under the direction of the forest department, work has begun to remove the beehives from the Mata Tekri premises." tnn
