4 Chinese nationals’ month-long stay lands Ratlam hotel in trouble
Indore/Ujjain: A routine scrutiny of foreign guest records has landed a Ratlam hotel in legal trouble after police found that four Chinese nationals stayed there for over a month without making the mandatory disclosures to authorities.Information obtained from the foreigners’ visa records triggered an inquiry. A case has now been registered against the hotel’s owner and manager under provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, for allegedly failing to comply with mandatory reporting requirements for foreign guests.Station Road police station in-charge Jitendra Singh Jadon said four Chinese nationals — Xu Hu, Zhi Guangjian, Yang Zhongfu and Liu Yan — stayed at the hotel from Dec 17, 2025, to Jan 20, 2026. The visitors had arrived in India on business visas and were in Ratlam for machinery-related work. The details of the foreign guests were not uploaded through the mandatory online C-Form system. Police also found that neither the local police station nor the SP office had been informed about their stay.Police said hotels, lodges and guest houses accommodating foreign nationals must upload guest details through the online C-Form system within 24 hours of arrival.Further probe is on.
