CM’s remarks on Central leaders divisive: T BJP chief

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao took strong exception to the remarks made by chief minister A Revanth Reddy, who said he felt ashamed to salute top leaders in the Central govt. Alleging that the comments sought to create a North-South divide, Rao strongly condemned them as being detrimental to India’s unity.Addressing party workers at the Pandit Deendayal training camp in Yadagirigutta on Saturday, Ramchander Rao said it was painful to hear such remarks from a person who had once been associated with the ABVP and had an RSS background.Referring to the CM’s comments, Rao said Revanth Reddy had remarked: “The Prime Minister belongs to North India, the President belongs to North India, the Home minister belongs to North India, and the Defence minister belongs to North India. Should I go and salute them? I feel ashamed.”The BJP state president questioned the CM, saying, “You have gone to Delhi numerous times. Did you not go to meet Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi and work according to their dictates? Did you not feel ashamed then?”“Today, India is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world and has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy globally. Unable to digest this success, the Congress party is continuously spreading negative propaganda. Unable to witness India’s progress, it is trying to play divisive politics,” Rao alleged.He said the BJP is a party that constantly studies changes taking place in politics, society and across the world, adapting itself to changing times. “That is why the BJP has grown to become the largest political party in the world. It is a matter of pride for all of us to serve this party as district leaders and workers,” he said.
