Koppal/Ballari: The State Budget 2026-27 outlines several development initiatives for the Kalyana Karnataka districts of Ballari, Koppal, Vijayanagara and Raichur across sectors such as irrigation, higher education, industrial development, healthcare and urban infrastructure, with projects proposed for specific towns and taluks.In Ballari district, a new industrial estate will be established at Kampli to promote MSMEs and generate employment. A planetarium estimated to cost Rs 4 crore was also announced. Comprehensive healthcare services will be extended to all taluks of mining-affected districts, including Ballari, under KMERC, while a Praja Soudha will be constructed at Siruguppa.

Koppal district figures prominently in irrigation, education and skill development initiatives. The budget again mentions the construction of a balancing reservoir near Navali to address water storage loss in the Tungabhadra reservoir due to silt accumulation. Tank modernisation works will be undertaken in Yelburga and Kukanur taluks at a cost of Rs 25 crore.In the education sector, a residential govt First Grade College will be established at Bevur at a cost of Rs 18 crore. A drinking water project worth Rs 125 crore will supply water to Bannikoppa and 23 villages in Kukanur and Yelburga taluks.
A Technology Centre in Precision Tool Engineering will be established in Koppal under the GTTC–MSDC initiative at a cost of Rs 20 crore, including a Rs 10 crore grant from KKRDB.A new planetarium costing Rs 4 crore will also be set up in Koppal district. A tertiary cancer hospital at Munirabad–Tungabhadra dam will serve patients in both Koppal and Vijayanagara districts. A bridge-cum-barrage across the Marakumbi stream was also proposed in Gangavathi taluk.In Vijayanagara district, a planetarium costing Rs 4 crore will be established, and the district stadium upgraded using funds from KKRDB and KMERC. A check dam-cum-bridge was also proposed at Chikkajogihalli in Kudligi taluk.Raichur district received announcements across education, infrastructure and technology sectors. A govt first grade college will be established at Maski under KKRDB macro funds, while another residential govt first grade college will be set up at Ambamath at a cost of Rs 18 crore. Development of the 77km Kalmala–Sindhanur road is progressing, with 60km completed and the remaining 17km expected to be finished soon.Under Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojana 2.0, Rs 200 crore was allocated for infrastructure development in Raichur City Corporation. A centre of excellence for artificial intelligence at IIIT Raichur at a cost of Rs 5 crore, a trauma care centre costing Rs 10 crore, and construction of a district central prison will also be taken up.The budget also proposes irrigation works in Raichur district, including a tank-filling scheme for 18 tanks in Raichur taluk, lift irrigation schemes in Manvi taluk and Adavikhanapur, and a check dam to canal at Jalawadagi in Maski taluk.
