Hubballi: BJP Hubballi-Dharwad Mahanagar celebrated the party's victories in Assam, West Bengal and Puducherry election by distributing sweets at Durgadbail in Hubballi on Monday.
The celebration was led by deputy leader of opposition in the assembly and MLA Arvind Bellad and MLA Mahesh Tenginakai. Party workers raised victory slogans, burst crackers and exchanged sweets.
Speaking to reporters in Hubballi on Monday, Bellad said that the BJP grabbed a landmark victory in West Bengal, which was a huge challenge for democracy. "BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah, has achieved unprecedented victories in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry," he added.
MLA Mahesh Tenginakai said that from past 15 years, the govt led by Mamata Banerjee indulged in corruption and there was no safety for women in the state. "An MP remarked that if the BJP comes to power, they will not survive. Now they will know how Union BJP Govt implements rules. This election has made it clear that only Modi Guarantee won. It a big victory in West Bengal," he expressed.
He also said the party was defeated in two bypolls in Karnataka. He said all Congress functionaries, including the CM, DCM and most of the cabinet members of the govt, had taken up residence in the constituency for election and misused the govt. He said the loss would be discussed in the party's meeting.
HDMC mayor Jyothi Patil, deputy mayor Santosh Chavan, president Tippanna Majjagi and others were present.
