Tinsukia Municipal Board designates new parking zones
Dibrugarh: The Tinsukia Municipal Board (TMB) has officially notified a comprehensive list of designated parking zones across the town in a move to address the escalating challenges of traffic gridlock and unregulated vehicle stalling.The notification, issued on Wednesday, comes under the authority of Sections 68, 74, 89, and 148 of the Assam Municipal Act, 1956.The new regulations categorise parking areas specifically for cars and two-wheelers, covering major arterial roads, including AT Road, GNB Road and Chirapatty Road.The TMB has identified 10 specific stretches along the AT Road for car parking, ranging from a 150-metre zone between Thana Road and Old Bata Store to smaller 20-metre slots near the TDA Market and Prakash Bazar entrances.For two-wheelers, the board has designated seven specific zones on AT Road, including a 110-metre stretch from Old Bata Store to the Daily Bazar Entrance.
