Tragic fall claims lives: Two labourers die after falling from building site; Victims' families allege owner's negligence

Dhubri: Two labourers, who were working at an under-construction three-storey building in ward no. 3, died on Friday after falling from the top floor.Local residents immediately took the duo to Dhubri Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.The deceased has been identified as Afzal Hussain,28, from Bahadurtari village and Azizur Sheikh, 30, from Jhagrarpar village.While the family members of the deceased alleged negligence on the part of owner of the building, Kalyan Saha, Dhubri police station (Sadar) officer-in-charge Pritam Das said both the labourers were working on an overhead water tank when they lost balance and fell down.“It is a mishap”, Das said.
