Dhubri jail inmates get lessons in waste mgmt

Dhubri: The Feedback Foundation Charitable Trust (FFCT), engaged by the Dhubri Municipal Board to clean Dhubri, conducted a physical training on waste management among jail inmates inside the jail premises on Monday.The training was held to create awareness among inmates about proper waste management practices. During the session, the FFCT team stressed the importance of source segregation and encouraged inmates to segregate wet and dry waste at the point of generation.Talking to TOI, senior manager of FFCT, Piyush Kumar, said 74 jail inmates were trained on preparing compost from wet waste using simple composting methods. “The process, benefits of composting, and its role in maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability were clearly demonstrated,” he said
