During winter months, nothing is more comforting than deep-fried snacks. And if it is the old-school pakoda with chai, it is even more comforting. Try this simple and filling Paneer Bread Pakoda at home and enjoy it with chai or coffee.

1 cup gram flour, ¼ cup sooji, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 4 boiled potatoes, salt to taste, 2 tbsp coriander leaves, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp chaat masala, 1/2 tsp black salt, 2 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 4-6 paneer slices, 4-6 bread slices, oil for frying

Mash boiled potatoes, add salt, chaat masala, black salt, red chilli powder, pepper, coriander leaves, and ginger garlic paste. Mix well.

Add gram flour, sooji, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt, in a mixing bowl.

Make a batter of coating consistency using enough water.

Heat oil in a kadhai or a deep pan. In the meantime, cut bread slices into two equal halves.

Add baking soda to gram flour batter and mix well.

Take one triangle of bread, layer it with potato stuffing and add one paneer slice on top.

Dunk it in gram flour batter and coat it evenly. Deep fry on a medium flame till it turns golden in colour.
