2 militants nabbed, arms recovered
Guwahati: Manipur Police on Tuesday reported the arrest of two militants and recovery of a cache of arms and explosives during intensified security operations across the state.Police said security forces recovered one .22 rifle, one locally made 9 mm pistol with magazine, five country-made carbines (CMGs), four locally made lathod guns, 1.2 kg of explosive substance and three radio sets at Aigejang area under Chakpikarong police station in Chandel district.Security forces also nabbed a cadre of KCP (Taibangnganba) faction, identified as Haobijam Haridas Singh (43), near JNIMS Main Gate at Porompat under Porompat police station in Imphal East district.A day earlier, on Monday, security forces arrested an active cadre of KYKL, Khoirakpam James Singh (28), at BP 76 area under Moreh police station in Tengnoupal district.Officials said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to curb militant activity and restore stability in the violence-hit state.
