Financial feud turns violent, vandals target house in Gurgaon, 2 in police net
Gurgaon: Two men were arrested after they allegedly vandalised a house and a catering office following a dispute over money recovery on Wednesday night.The accused, Ranbir (41) and Vikash (22), both residents of Makdana village in Charkhi Dadri district, along with their associates hurled stones, smashed glass windows, and attempted to force their way into the premises, police said.
The complainant, Deepak, who runs a catering business on Basai Road, told police that the attackers arrived late at night to recover money and began pelting stones at both his office and his residence located nearby.Police also recovered a Thar car allegedly used during the incident from the possession of the accused. "The vehicle was used to reach the complainant's house and office during," an officer said.The complainant said he had borrowed Rs 10 lakh from one of the accused, Ranbir, on a 10 percent interest rate on Sept 3, 2024. The complainant claimed that he later returned the principal amount of Rs 10 lakh, but the accused prepared an interest bill of Rs 18 lakh and continued to demand money. At the time of the incident, two men were present inside the house, but no injuries were reported. Police said the accused are being identified, and a case has been registered at New Colony police station. "My family and I are facing a serious threat to our lives. These people are spreading terror in the name of money recovery. I have already paid them a substantial amount, yet they continue to harass me and my family members ," the complaint said.
