Class 11 student hangs self in Ggn, unaware of any issues with her, say kin
Gurgaon: A 17-year-old girl ended her life at her house in Bhora Kalan village on Tuesday. Police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the suicide as no note was found at the spot.The victim, Vandana, is a Class 11 student of a private school. According to the uncle of the deceased, Vandana's father is a doctor and has a private clinic in the village. "Her father went to Gurgaon for shopping and her mother was at home with her. They live on the first floor of the house. Her mother was on the ground floor when the incident happened. When she returned upstairs and went to Vandana's room, it was bolted from inside," he said. After repeated knocks when the victim did not open the door, her mother raised an alarm following which other members in the joint family and neighbours rushed to help. They broke the door and found Vandana hanging. She was subsequently taken to a local hospital where she was declared dead. The body was taken to the mortuary and then handed over to the family for last rites.A relative of the deceased said she never discussed any issue with her family and did not even seem depressed. An inquest has been initiated in the case at Bilaspur police station. "Things will get clearer after the autopsy and investigation," an officer said. Vandana is survived by her parents and an elder brother.
